It is our sad duty to report to our supporters that another incident occurred at the notorious Hood Hill bend on the A6135 last night at 10:50 See photos here

Residents called the emergency services, and they turned out to rescue the victim of the accident whose car had struck the very same tree that has so far claimed 6 lives in the last 12 years.  The man thought to be the driver of the Silver Peugeot was taken to Hospital, his condition is not thought to be serious.

Residents also reported damage to crash barrier, hedges and Green houses in the Gardens of the houses adjacent to the accident.

3 police cars, 3 ambulances and 2 fire engines were in attendance.

The road was closed for nearly 2 hours and reopened at 01:36 this morning.
